2021 BMW S1000R lightest bike in segment launched-Priced Rs 17.9lakh

2021 BMW S1000R lightest bike in the space has been launched in the Indian market starting from Rs 17.90 lakh ex-showroom.

BMW Motorrad has announced the launch of S1000R in the Indian market, with a single standard variant priced at Rs 17.90 lakh ex-showroom, Pan India. The new S1000R competes against Kawasaki Z H2, Triumph Speed triple 1200 RS, and recent launch Ducati Streetfighter V4. The FY2021 version of S1000R comes with a host of updates and changes includes mechanical updates as well. A for the design it gets single-piece LED headlamps as in BMW F900R, instead of the asymmetrical headlamps. Although, the overall look seems sharper and sleek, as it gets redesigned fuel tank, body panels, belly pan, and radiator guard.

2021 BMW S1000R rear features resemblance of S1000RR faired bike and also shares the same exhaust tailpipe. The motorcycle also underpins a new powertrain and lightweight chassis, courtesy of which the overall weight of the entry-level bike stood at just 199 kilograms. However, the brand claims that it is the lightest motorcycle in the segment in India with a power to weight ratio of a staggering 0.82 hp/kg. However, the Top-spec trim is also lighter as it gets more carbon fiber hoops and forged wheels. The 2021 BMW S1000R gets a lot of electronic aids with it as any other German manufacture motorcycle.

2021 BMW S1000R comes powered by a new 999cc four-cylinder motor, which belts out 165 HP of maximum power at 11,000 Rpm and 115 Nm of peak torque at 9,250 Rpm. The powertrain comes coupled with 6-speed contact mesh transmission as before, as it is 5 Kg lighter compared with its predecessor. As for the electronics it gets, Dynamic traction control, ABS pro with banking angle, three riding modes, Road and dynamic, and so on. The dynamic control system supports the rider during emergency braking conditions. The 2021 BMW S1000R also boasts many optional accessories offered in Pro and Pro M sport variants priced at Rs 19.75 lakh and Rs 22.50 lakh ex-showroom, Pan India.
