TVS iQube electric scoter beats Bajaj Chetak EV In Jan 2021 sales

In Jan 2021 sales chart for electric Scooters, TVS iQube beats the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter, as with 263.79 percent sales growth.

  • Bajaj sold 1,337 units of Chetak electric in 2020
  • TVS retails 211 units of iQube in India

TVS iQube had a massive sales growth last month, with 290 units sold during the entirety of the last year 2020. On other hand, the Bajaj chetak Electric scooter sold 1,337 units last year 2020, had a lot of success. But last month iQube beat their major rival chetak electric scooter in terms of sales. Last month, TVS retailed a total of 211 units of the iQube in the Indian market. In January 2020, iQube has no sale so there is no Year-on-year sales report of that. In December 2020, iQube sales stood at 58 units, which gives sales growth of 263.79 percent on a month-on-month basis.

On the other hand, Bajaj chetak electric scooter sold a total of 30 units last month. Compared to January 2020’s sales it gets a 42.86 percent positive sales growth on a year-on-year basis. In December 2020, the scooter has retailed only 3 units which gives the sales growth of 900 percent in Jan 2021. TVS iQube sales were ahead of the Bajaj Chetak not because of the poor demand but the main reason is the low production rate as there is the shortage of Semiconductor chips. As of now, Bajaj is not accepting any fresh bookings for Chetak electric, and already has over 1,500 orders pending.Chetak iQube Jan 2021.

As for performance, Bajaj Chetak powered from a 3-kWh battery pack paired with a 4.08 KW electric motor. It is good enough to deliver a maximum output of a driving range of 95 Km on a single charge and takes around 5 hours for a full charge. The Chetak is available in two variants- Urbane and premium, former priced at Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.15 lakh for the latter (All prices are, ex-showroom). On another hand, iQube powered with a 2.25 kWh battery pack paired with a 4.4 kW electric motor, which is good enough to deliver 75 Km of driving range in a single full charge battery. iQube takes around 5 hours for the fully charged battery pack. TVS iQube offered in only one variant that is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh ex-showroom respectively.
