Yamaha Motors planning to expand its XSR series with the launch of 125cc bike in the European market. The popularity of retro styles bikes has been peaking up in the last few years, which is the only reason the brand is slated to introduce soon enough. Upon the launch, the bike will rival Honda CB125R, the chief opponent. Thanks to the recently leaked approval documents, which reveal most of the details about the motorcycle. The dimensions of XSR125 will be the same as the XSR155, except to be slightly taller by 100 mm.
Yamaha XSR125 will be built on YZF-R125 and MT-125 chassis, along with the suspension setup and powertrain. While the styling of XSR125 is expected to be the same as the XSR155 with few changes here and there. XSR125 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, with a 110/80 tire at the rear section. The braking is handled by a 292 mm disc at the front and a 220 mm disc on the rear wheel, along with dual-channel ABS as standard. While the test mule’s images haven’t been there so we didn’t know how well it looks on design elements.
Yamaha XSR125 global debut is expected to do done towards the end of this year itself. The chances of Yamaha bringing the XSR125 into the Indian market is near to zero, courtesy of high prices. XSR125 comes powered with a 125cc single-cylinder motor, which belts out 15 PS of maximum power output at 10,000 Rpm and 11.5 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 Rpm. The powertrain paired with a 6-speed transmission gearbox system. While Yamaha motors India likely to launch retro styles FZ-X in the Indian market as it was seen in Atal tunnel during the TVC shoot in its production-ready form.
