Nissan Motor India Private Limited is a part of the Japanese Automaker Nissan Motor Company. The Nissan Motor Company was founded in 1930s and is headquartered in Yokohama, Japan. It also occupies Infiniti and Datsun and is known as Nissan Group. In 1999, Nissan made an alliance with Mitsubishi and Renault and has been a part of it since. In 2013, Nissan became the sixth largest auto-manufacturer and the alliance would have been on fourth. Soon after that in 2014, it became North America’s largest automaker. And just a while back in 2018, Nissan became the world’s largest Electric car manufacturer with over 320,000 global electric vehicle sales. However, it’s all-electric Nissan Leaf became 2nd top selling vehicle after Tesla model 3.

Nissan entered India in 2005 with the establishment of it’s headquarter in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The company came into India with two brand names Nissan and Datsun. They are completely owned and controlled by the Nissan Group, Japan. Since 2005, company brought many vehicles of different segments Hatchback, MUV, SUV and Sedan in Indian market. In 2010, Company in alliance with Renault inaugurated their first manufacturing plant in India. All of their models are manufactured locally that are being sold in India except GT-R which is being imported till date.
Currently, Nissan has a line-up of only three vehicles with their branding. Their most popular car out of those is the all-new Nissan Magnite. It is the most affordable subcompact SUV from company in Indian market and has received a whole lot of attention since its launch. It has a heavy build quality and offers a whole lot of features. The other two vehicles in the company’s line-up is the compact SUV Nissan Kicks and the sport class GT-R. The company also has three vehicles under the Datsun branding the Datsun Go, Go+ and Redi-Go.
