2021 Volkswagen T-Roc second batch goes for sale at Rs 21.35 lakh

The bookings for the second batch of 2021 Volkswagen T-Roc have been started and with the car being brought as a CBU unit, the car enjoys the new relaxation on homologation regulations. The car, however, still rocks the same looks and design with some additional features with a slight price increase from the first batch of 1000 units which were priced at Rs. 19.99 lakh whereas the new lot cost Rs. 21.35 lakh. To justify this price hike for the second batch of cars, the company is giving some additional features which haven’t been disclosed yet.

The 2021 Volkswagen T-Roc is built on the widely known MQB platform which is shared by its competitor Skoda Karoq and also by the Volkswagen Tiguan. The same platform will also be used for the recently revealed Taigun, which is the company’s first compact SUV entry.

Volkswagen is now primarily focusing on the SUV segment for the Indian market, as the SUV market has seen some major growth from the past few years, and especially the compact SUV segment where the competition is a better-featured car as a more aggressive and affordable price. If the second batch of T-Roc sells as quickly as the first batch then the carmaker may think about localizing the T-Roc as it will be beneficial for both the company as well as the customers.

Talking about the size and engine options of the 2021 Volkswagen T-Roc subcompact crossover SUV, the measurements of the car are as follows – 4,234 mm in length, 1,819 mm in width, 1,573 mm in height and a large wheelbase of 2590 mm. for the engine option the car only consists of a single-engine variant, which is a 1.5-litre 4-pot TSI Evo turbo petrol engine, which can produce a max power output of 150 PS and a max torque output of 250 Nm, that comes mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission gearbox.
