Honda Civic has been one of the few popular models of the company in the global market, the success of the car can also be determined by the iteration it has gotten till now; the 2022 Honda Civic will be the 11th iteration to the Civic family which is yet to be revealed. However, few leaked photos have already surfaced on the internet showcasing the whole exterior of the car, but the interior still remains a mystery.
The model showcased in these images is the Chinese version of the new 2022 Honda Civic and will most likely be remaining the same for the global version. Talking about designing in detail, we can say that this designing will likely permeate a polarizing effect in the minds of the audience. Getting to the designing changes to the new Civic, the car will be getting a sleeker-looking blacked-out grille with a set of wider LED headlamps with a Honda’s ‘H’ Logo at the centre, the part which makes the front facia look weird is an extension of the lower part of the bonnet that which stands out like a sore thumb and no use of chrome can be seen anywhere from the front, although, higher variants may get some chrome features.
For the sides the car gets a lower character lining running through the bottom of the doors, dual-tone ORVMs and new 17-inch dual-tone machine cut alloy wheels. For the rear, the new Civic get a new set of split taillights, and new black cladding on the lower end of the bumper giving it unique styling.
For the powertrain options, the car will be getting a single updated version of the regular 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and might even get a new plug-in hybrid option as well. The 2022 Honda Civic will later be introduced in a hatchback, Si and Type R variant also.
Now the big question is will it be coming to India? A simple answer to it is no, the car won’t be coming to the Indian market, as Honda has shut down the Noida plant which was the sole producer of the Civic model. So now the Civic and CR-V are officially discontinued and the company is now focusing on its new HR-V which will the competing against the likes of Hyundai Creta.
