The French automaker Citroen is all set for the debut of its 1st production in India the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV which will be launched on 1st Feb 2021 in the mis-size SUV segment and will be competing against some best-selling SUVs of this segment. Today marks the day for the company as it produced its first car in the Indian plant located at Thiruvallur near Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The car will be retailed at exclusive retail network naming ‘La Maison Citroen’ which translates to Home of Citroen, which will be exclusive to 10 different cities Delhi, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin and Kolkata furthermore company will also be expanding its reach slowly after seeing its market demand.
Let’s now talk about the car Citroen C5 Aircross.
For its exterior the car gets split headlamps in the front with LED DRLs placed just above them, a unique front grille, large lower air damps, 17-inch alloy wheels, Pill shaped taillight wrapped around the rear corners, and dual-tone paint. Along with these exterior features the car also packs some minor interior details like a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a Large panaromic sunroof, and a huge 12.3-inch instrument cluster.
As for the engine options, the C5 Aircross will be getting 2 variants fist being the 1.4-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing upto 180hp of power and an optimum torque of 250Nm, coupled with a 6-speed manual or a 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox, and secondly a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine which can produce upto 175hp of max power and 400Nm of peak torque, coupled with a 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox.
As for its competition the new Citroen C5 Aircross will be competing against the likes of the best-selling SUV Hyundai Creta, the former best-selling SUV Kia Seltos and the new entry Jeep Compass 2021 Facelift.
