Ford Motors India released their March 2021 sales figures, in which the compact SUV leading the way for the brand Indian line-up.
- Ford India sold 7,746 units last month
- Ford finished the month at eight position in over-all best-selling brand sales chart
- The company has a 2.4 percent market share in March 2021
Ford Motor India has registered a total cumulative domestic sale of 7,746 units of the car as against 3,519 units in the same period in the corresponding month last year with getting 120 percent of positive sales growth on a YOY basis. Although most auto sector manufacturers registered a three-digit sales growth in last month, that being said last year due to health and financial crisis the import and exports have been stopped for several months. But in the last quarter of 2020 the automobile manufacture garnered a continuous growth of two digits, and the momentum still continuous for the first quarter of the year 2021.
Ford India got a decent positive sales growth of 34 percent when compared with a month-on-month basis, as the company sold 5,775 units in Feb 2021. In the overall best-selling brand’s sales chart the American manufacturer finished at eight positions below many best-seller brands, Maruti Suzuki, Kia, Renault, Hyundai, Mahindra, Tata, Toyota, and Volkswagen. From the brand their compact SUV EcoSport and besides EcoSport, Endeavour is the consistent seller in the full-Size SUV segment led by segment king Toyota Fortuner. Recently, just a few weeks ago American manufacture launched their global market product version of EcoSport with the absence of tailgate-mounted spare wheel and few added features as well, launched as EcoSport SE. the SE variant positioned just below the Top-end variant S.
The American manufacture also sold sub-4m Sedan Figo and Aspire along with freestyle CUV. Next, ford India is planning to launch C-segment SUV in the Indian market heavily localized in a joint venture with Mahindra and Mahindra. More, specifically, it will share the monocoque platform with soon to be launching New Gen XUV500, although the joint venture is been canceled last year. So, as of now, Ford India will be using the joint venture amount to build their own powertrains and soon be launching new SUVs in the Indian market. As per reports, ford is going to launch the Ranger raptor later this year along with the facelift version of Mustang by end of this year 2021.
