Honda India March 2021 sales analysis – City, Amaze WR-V, Jazz

Honda India March 2021 sale figures are out and the company saw a decent two-digit sales growth, and Amaze as the best selling model.

Honda cars India released their last month’s march 2021 sales figures. As the brand recorded 7,103 units of cars last month against 3,697 units of the car in the same corresponding month twelve months back, with two-digit positive sales growth of 92 percent compared on a YOY basis. Although, if we compared the sales on a month-on-month basis the company sold 9,324 units in Feb 2021, with negative sales growth of 24 percent on a MOM basis. It is noted that only Honda, Nissan, and Volkswagen stood a negative sales decline in last month.

The Japanese automaker finished last month at ninth position in the best-selling manufacturer sales chart and held a market share of 2.2 percent in March 2021. Honda has the Amaze and city sedan as the best-selling product for last month, while WR-V SUV brings a decent sales volume to the brand. As of now Honda Motors India has four models in their Indian line-up, City, Jazz, WR-V, and Amaze. Also, recently revealed HR-V Mid-Size SUV coming into the Indian market in near future as well, which gives boast sales volume for the brand and the vehicle compete with many giant products like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, and so on.

While the best-selling sedan from the brand competes against Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid, and Toyota Yaris, and offered in three variants, V, VX, and ZX. Honda City is offered in the two-generation model, 5th generation which was launched last year and ongoing 4th generation as well. The vehicle uses a 1.5 liter four cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which develops 119 HP of maximum power and 145 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with standard 6-speed manual transmission and an optional CVT (continuous variable transmission) gearbox system with paddle shifters. City also comes equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged oil burner as well, which develops 99HP/200Nm, and comes mated with a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox system only, with ARAI claimed mileage of 24.1 Kmpl. It is priced between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 14.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
