Honda Model Wise Sales analysis Jan 2021 – Honda City, Amaze

Honda Motors India finished the new calendar year at sixth position with massive 114 percent sales growth in Jan 2021.

Honda cars India got off a brilliant start to the new calendar year 2021 with the highest-ever sales. Honda posted 11,319 units last month against 5,299 units in the same period in 2020, with massive 114 percent positive sales growth compared on a year-on-year basis. The Japanese manufacturer finished at sixth position in overall car manufacturer sales chart ahead, Toyota, Renault, Ford, Nissan, and MG. Amongst all the offerings Honda Amaze was the most sold car model from the brand. Amaze manages to sell 5,477 units in Jan 2021, against 3,160 units in the same period in 2020, with 73 percent increased sales compared on a Year-on-year basis.

Amaze was the second most sold sedan behind Maruti Suzuki Dzire. After the amaze, Honda city was the second most sold car from, the brand, as it gained 3,667 units in Jan 2021 against 1,734 units in the same corresponding period 2020, with 111 percent growth in sales compared on a year-on-year basis. The WR-V finished at third position with 1,211 units were sold in Jan 2021 against 116 units sold in Jan 2020 with a massive 944 percent sales growth compared on a year-on-year basis. The Jazz premium hatchback offered from Honda slotted at fourth-ranked with 953 units against 46 units in Jan 2020, gaining a massive 1972 percent growth.

Although, the biggest shocking news came last month as the Honda manufacturer plant in Noida has been closed. This resulted in the discontinuation of CR-V and Civic from the Indian market. As reported only 11 units were dispatched of CR-V to showrooms last month resulting in 70 percent negative sales growth compared on a year-on-year basis. As of now car manufacturer doesn’t seem to launch new products in the Indian market, although HR-V reportedly making its global debut sometime in near future but can’t hold in the Indian market due to cost issues. But the fifth-generation city seems to be the highlight for Honda last year, as it helps increase the sales volume.
