Hyundai has always been on tiptoes with the ongoing trend of the Indian market and hasn’t ever disappointed with its updates and upgrades. Recently the company has updated many of its cars like the third generation i20, second-generation Creta, and in a few weeks will be revealing its first-ever seven-seater in the Indian market followed by the final launch in June 2021, and recently the company has been testing its smaller than Venue and Bayon car which they are calling as Hyundai AX1 in their home country South Korea. However, the car name will subject to change as this is only the codename of the car.
This is the second instance where the car has been spied outside on roads for testing, although the car is fully covered, certain highlights can be concluded from its silhouette. The first thing that strikes anyone is its smaller length which will be less than 4 meters, an upright front facia consisting of a split headlamp housing which also includes the LED DRLs sitting over the headlamp setup, the grille however looks a bit small with larger air intakes and increased ground clearance. Other than that, things that can be distinguished are rectangular wheel arcs, side body cladding, rectangular turn indicator, broad upright pillars, sturdy roof rails, newly designed alloy wheels, and wrapped around taillights.
The powertrain of the engine is still unknown; however, the car might get the same engine as the i10 Nios which is a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing a max power output of 83 PS and 115 Nm of max torque or a 1.2-liter diesel engine could also be offered, which will be mated with a 5-speed manual or an option 5-speed automatic transmission system. The car will also come with some standard features like an 8-inch infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster, rear AC vents, and much more.
