The South Korean company Hyundai has started to tease its new Micro SUV, the Hyundai AX1 which will be the company newest launch that will be first making its debut in the company’s domestic market in South Korea and then will slowly be making its way to the Indian car market. The car is said to be a Micro SUV which means that it will be placed below the compact SUV of the company, Hyundai Venue and will be taking on the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
Although, the teaser doesn’t show much about the car, but from the spied images which were leaked earlier you can clearly see the rough design of the car, and things which can be noted from both teased images and the earlier spied images, that the car will be rocking a split headlamp setup with O-ring DRLs which are housed within the front bumpers while the turn indicators are position above these headlamps. And from the teaser images, the stylish LED taillight can also be seen, however, the turn indicator and the reverse lights are housed at the sides of the rear bumper.
Talking about the specifications of the car, it is more likely that the car will be based on the same K1 architecture as the more popular Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and might be rocking the same 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, which will be developing 82 hp and max 114 Nm of torque. The car can also be powered by the 1.1-litre engine used in Hyundai Santro for some of its lower-powered variants, which will be developing 68 hp and max torque of 99 Nm. While both of these cars will be provided with a 5-speed manual as well as 5-speed automatic transmission.
