Kia Motors India finished last year on high continuing the momentum this year,.it manages to finish at fifth position in overall manufacturer sales chart in Jan 2021.

Kia Motors India finished at fifth position in compared with overall manufacturers in the Indian market last month. The Brand registered 19,056 units last month as against 15,450 units in the same period on Jan 2020, with 23 percent positive sales growth on a year-on-year basis. After ending the calendar year 2020 on high, the big-time Duo SUV, Seltos and Sonet continuing the momentum in 2021 as well. The South Korean manufacturer has been earning benefits in major crowded segment Mid-size SUV and compact SUV. Mid-Size SUV seltos which was launched a few years ago, garnered 9,869 units in Jan 2021 as against 15,000 units in the same period on Jan 2020, with 34 percent negative sales growth on a year-on-year basis.
Compact SUV Sonet debuted last year and manages to sell 8,859 units in Jan 2021. While the Carnival MPV recorded only 328 units last month against 450 units in the same period on Jan 2020, with 27.1 percent negative sales growth on a year-on-year basis. Kia debut in the Indian market with Mid-size SUV seltos and gained popularity even beating the king of segment Hyundai Creta at the start. But after the launch of second-generation Hyundai Creta in March 2020, helps Hyundai to regain its top spot in the SUV segment, with the most sold SUV last year. And last year the much-anticipated compact SUV Sonet has been launched by the Brand and helps Kia to gain more sales volume in crowded segments. Sonet at the launch was the most affordable compact-SUV in the Indian market, but for long as its rival, Nissan Magnite was launched at a very aggressive price of Rs 4.99 lakhs. Sonet currently rivals with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, and recently revealed Renault Kiger.
