According to the recent reports surfing on the internet that Mahindra could be discounting their 7-seater full-sized SUV Alturas G4. The Alturas is a rebadged version of SsangYong Rexton G4. Since Mahindra and Mahindra don’t get as much profit as they expected when they start investing in a south Korean SUV manufacture ring company. Also, the relationship is not so good as it used to be. This could be the main reason for discounting Alturas G4. As per the reports, Mahindra only has 500 units of production material left in their production plant for Alturas G4.
Within Alturas, G4 was price competitively, brought into the country via CKD route. The Mahindra launched Alturas G4 in 2018 to rival with the likes of, Toyota Fortuner, Ford endeavor, Isuzu MU-X, and new rival received in segment MG Gloster. Although Mahindra shifts production of Alturas G4 to a new assembly plant in Pune around august last year. Earlier this year the brand launched the BS6 version of G4 and hiked in price by Rs 1 lakh. Although the long list of features comfort of the car, on and off-road the Alturas G4 doesn’t perform in the market as expected by the brand.
As seen the sales numbers of Alturas G4 month on month, we don’t surprise if brand discontinued the vehicle next year, the amazing fact about G4 is that first unit of Alturas G4 BS6 has been delivered to the president of India. The car is received by the joint secretary on behalf of the president at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Altruas G4 offered in both and trims. It is priced Rs 23.87 lakh for 4×2 and Rs 31.70 lakh for 4×4 trim (All prices are ex-showroom Delhi). As for the engine specifications, it is powered by a 2.2 litre 4-cylinder diesel engine and mated with a standard 7-speed torque convertor gearbox system.
