Mahindra Thar waiting period crosses 1 year mark on select variants

Mahindra and Mahindra have shifted their sole motive to SUV cars only, which ranges from off-roader SUVs to 7-seater SUVs, talking about the famous off-roader Mahindra Thar which was launched in October 2020 has been receiving tremendous praise from the customers and equally tremendous demand. The new 2020 Mahindra Thar till date has received over 50,000 bookings although, the carmaker is struggling quite a bit to overcome such a huge demand. Seeing this enormous demand Mahindra has already increased the production to many folds but requirements and availability still remain far apart.

Till date Mahindra has been able to deliver around 12,750 units even after increasing the production, and due to this demand and production difference the waiting period of the Thar has been climbing up not so steadily, even in few months after the launch of the car became “the car with highest waiting period“, and now this increasing demand has lead to the waiting period rising up to 1 year on select variants and in select cities, however even if not talking about some high demand variants, most of the other variants too have a waiting period up to 6-7 months.

Mahindra has been recently preparing for a lockdown for the Nasik plant which will further fuel up this waiting period. The major reason for such a high demand for this car is due to its off-roading skills, which can be attained at a very affordable price starting at Rs. 12.10 lakh, the car also comes with a standard 4×4 drive option which is just amazing for a car priced this low. Other than that, Thar has a look that can make heads turn wherever it goes, and a plethora of modification options. Lastly, the so very powerful engine to support the off-roading experience, which is provided by a 2.2-litre mHwak diesel engine or a 2.0-litre turbo mStallion petrol engine.
