Mahindra likely to launch two electric SUV in the Indian market next year, which was showcased in last year Auto Expo 2020.

Mahindra and Mahindra appear to be working on launching a range of electrified vehicles in the Indian range. At Auto Expo 2020, last year the homegrown brand introduced two new electric vehicles eXUV300 and eKUV100 in its almost production-ready version. The eXUV300 has long been expected to launch this year itself but due to the health crisis the debut has been postponed, the semiconductor shortage and workforce is the major issue around it. Although for this year Mahindra planning to launch the new generation of Scorpio and XUV500.
The eKUV100 and eXUV300 have been scheduled to launch next year, and it will help strengthen the electric vehicle line-up in India. As for now Mahindra only offers sole electric Verito in India. Upon, the launch eKUV100 likely to be the most affordable electric offering in India, as it is expected to be priced from Rs 9 lakh ex-showroom targeting the driving claimed range of 130km to 150km. the prototype at the 2020 Auto expo was said to produce 54 HP of maximum power and 120 Nm of peak torque and paired with an automatic transmission system. While it has claimed a range of 147 km in a single charge.
With the substantial investment by Mahindra on EV infrastructure, the company could launch many electric passenger cars with a high-performance battery pack. Upon, launch eXUV300 will direct rival with Tata Nexon EV, which was launched last year. The Nexon EV emerged as the best-selling passenger EV in India last year, with a claimed range of 300 km. While eXUV300 will be equipped with a higher battery capacity which offers a better driving range. Although, the exact specifications haven’t been revealed by the manufacturer yet, for that we have to wait till next year.
