Mahindra is currently on its way to revamping its whole lineup and has already filed some trademarks for its new cars which are going to be introduced later this year. However, the company has also been making some news regarding its massive YoY growth on some of its cars like the Mahindra Scorpio which achieved YoY sales of 5727% and the Mahindra XUV500 which also achieved a massive YoY growth of 6600%. Mahindra sold a total of 603 units in March 2021 compared to only 9 units sold in March 2020, however, the car received an MoM de-growth of 27%, as the total sales of February 2021 stood at 829 units.
The Mahindra XUV500 was launched back in 2011 and since then it has been over 11 years and still the car hasn’t received any generation upgrades, not only that, but the company has also announced the temporary discontinuation of the XUV500 which will be replaced by the new more premium XUV700. But as for now, the XUV500 is still being retailed at the starting price of Rs. 15.13 lakh for the base variant and goes up till Rs. 19.56 lakh for the top-end feature-rich variant.
Talking about the features and equipment of the XUV500 which comes with features like – electric sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, lounge lighting and many more.
For the powertrain option, the XUV500 comes with a single-engine option of a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, which can produce a max power output of up to 158 PS and max torque output of 360 Nm, that comes mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox, with a single option of front-wheel drive.
