Maruti Suzuki India sales Surge by a minor 4.3 percent positive growth in Jan 2021, all thanks to Baleno, alto, and Swift.

Maruti Suzuki India has announced their first month of new calendar sales, in which Maruti recorded 1,60,572 units’ total cumulative sales. From which it has 5,703 units within OEM and 12,445 units exports, including Maruti Suzuki Jimny. During the same corresponding period, Maruti stood a total cumulative sale of 1,54,123 units in Jan 2020, getting 4.3 percent positive sales growth on a year-on-year basis. The Alto and S-Presso combined garnered 25,153 units last month as against 25,885 units during the same period in 2020, with 2.8 percent negative sales growth.
On the other hand, the compact passenger vehicle sales of Maruti Suzuki recorded 76,935 units against 84,830 units in Jan 2020 with 8.8 percent De-Growth. The compact passenger vehicles in Maruti India includes, Wagon-R, Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno, Dzire, and Tour S. In the mid-Size sedan segment Ciaz managed to sold 1,347 units last month against 835 units during the same period in 2020, with 61.3 percent decline in sales compared on a year-on-year basis. The Sedan segment for Maruti sees a sales decline in recent months, unlike the compact SUV range, the Gypsy, Ertiga, S-cross, XL6, and Vitara breeza, which recorded a total of 23,887 units against 16,460 units with 45.1 percent positive volume growth.
The Eeco garnered a total of 11,680 units last month against 12,234 units in the same period in 2020, with a 5.2 percent Sales Decline. The Super carry LV posted a decent sales growth of 49.7 percent on a month-on-month basis, it records 3,602 units last month as compared with Dec 2020. Also, the manufacturer supply Vitara Brezza and Baleno to Toyota as rebadged versions as Toyota Urban cruiser and Glanza respectively. The rebadged versions were well received by customers as a total of 50,000 units were supplied to Toyota till last month. In last month 2,249 units were supplied with getting 154 percent sales growth. The domestic sales and OEM supply led the sales for Maruti to grow about 2.6 percent.
