Maruti Suzuki LCV super-carry sales up by 260%: Dec 2020

Maruti Suzuki Super-Carry mini truck is one of the popular carry commercial truck and is offered with both petrol and CNG engine units

  • A total of 5,726 units were sold

As always Maruti Suzuki posted an amazing sales growth month-on-month basis and year-on-year basis and the last month was quite the same. Maruti Suzuki posted a total of 1,60,226 units dispatched last month, resulting in 20.2 percent year-on-year positive sales growth. Also, Maruti posted a massive 259.9 percent positive sales growth in commercial vehicles on a year-on-year basis, with the LCV (light commercial vehicle) Super-carry. In December 2020 the super carry dispatched a total of 5,726 units as against 1,591 units in December 2019. On a month-on-month basis, mini-truck posted a sales growth of 80 percent, with 3,181 units were sold in November 2020.

It has been seen that the end of year sales growth is quite impressive for almost every private vehicle manufacturing brand, but Maruti Suzuki gets a massive growth in private as well as in commercial vehicles sales also. The Maruti Suzuki mini-truck carry was launched in September 2016, and also last month vehicle crosses the 70,000 sales milestones, which is quite impressive for commercial vehicles. According to the manufacturer, the Super carry a 15 percent market share in the segment in 2019-2020, which has been increased to 20 percent in 2020-2021.

The Maruti Suzuki super-carry is offered in three variants, standard, S-CNG, and cab chassis. The Standard one comes powered with a 1.2 Liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which burns out 74 PS of peak power and 98 Nm of peak torque. The cab chassis is the same as the standard one but doesn’t include the Loading bed as standard. The S-CNG gets the same 1.2 Liter Naturally aspirated petrol unit, but have the CNG kit mix with it. The S-CNG unit develops lower power as compared with the standard variant, 65 PS of power and 85 Nm of torque. The transmission duties are performed by a 5-speed manual gearbox system. It carries a payload of 740 Kg. The Price ranges from Rs 4.25 lakhs for the base model and Rs 5.18 lakhs for the top model (Ex-showroom, New Delhi).
