MG Hector and MG hector Plus CVT petrol launched today

2021 MG Hector and MG Hector Plus CVT petrol transmission launched and joins, the 6-speed manual and a DCT gearbox.

MG Motor India has the Hector its top-selling car since the debut back in 2019. Recently MG India has expanded the range of Hector in the MPV segment. Last year MG hector Plus 6-seater configuration was launched, and now at the starting of the new calendar year, MG launched the facelift of 5-seater Hector and MG hector Plus 7-seater configuration variant, to reach out to more customers. For 2021, facelift Hector gained a mere notable feature updates interior and at the exterior, along with a 7-seater joined the Line-up.

Today the brutish car maker launched the CVT (continuous variable transmission) Petrol gearbox, in smart and sharp variants. Its price range starts from Rs 16.51 lakhs for 5-seater Hector smart variant, Rs 17.21 lakhs for Hector Plus 6-seater Smart variant, and Rs 18.09 lakhs for 7-seater Hector Plus Sharp trim line (All prices are Ex-showroom, Pan India except Kerala). Also, if the buyer opting for the dual-tone color schemes for the above available top trim variants it will cost additional Rs 20,000. The New Petrol CVT variants will compete with, Hyundai Creta, Kia seltos, and Nissan Kicks. Nissan offered a CVT transmission gearbox with its newly added turbocharged petrol engine which was launched in August 2020.

It derives power from the same 1.5 liters inline-4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which develops 143 HP of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque. New 8-speed CVT joins the line up of, 6-speed manual and a DCT automatic gearbox that is already being offered with a hector petrol engine. Also, CVT gets Eco mode and sport Mode. MG Motors India during the launch stated that CVT will provide better fuel economy compared with DCT and a Smoother ride experience as well. Currently, MG India Retails Hector with a base price of Rs 12.90 lakhs and Rs 18.89 lakhs for the top-end trim variant. MG expansion will help hector to rivals the likes of, Hyundai Creta, Tata harrier, Kia seltos, Nissan Kicks.
