Renault MPV Made-in-India Triber gets a 4-star at Global NCAP crash test

Renault Triber MPV gets the 4-star adult-occupant safety rating and 3-star rating for Child-occupant safety test at Global NCAP.

Global NCAP has crash-tested the made-in-India Renault Triber recently, and a few days ago released a crash test report on its official website. The crash test has been done under the campaign #safercarsforindia. The result is now published and the Made-in-India MPV Triber performs extremely well as it gets a 4-star safety rating for adult occupants, scoring 11.62 points out of 17 points. The MPV was awarded a 3-star safety rating for Child-occupant seats, in which the vehicle scores 27 points out of a total of 49 points.

The Global NCAP Triber safety report also suggested that the protection of the front passenger is good for Thighs and head but it is adequate or normal at chest and legs. As for the driver, the protection for the head and feet is good and adequate at legs but very marginal for thighs and Chest. Along, with the bodyshell of Triber is stated unstable and unable to withstand further loading. However, the foot area for the front passenger was rated stable. The tested vehicle was the standard version of Triber which comes equipped with dual frontal airbags only, although the top-end trim comes equipped with additional two-side airbags also.

However, apart from the airbags the Triber also boasts its safety features with seat belt reminder and four-channel ABS system. As for performance, the Renault Triber comes powered by a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, which belts out 72 PS of maximum power and 96 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain comes paired with 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 5-speed automatic manual transmission gearbox system. Renault retails Triber with a base price of Rs 5.30 lakh, which goes up to Rs 7.82 lakh ex-showroom.
