January was very busy month for the auto industry with the start of this new year car companies showered the audience with many new cars, facelifts and upgrades. Major companies like Toyota, Tata, jeep, Renault and luxury brands like BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Aston Martin have all shown their quality products this month. So, to Round up our daily news for January 2021 lets see what all happened this month in the auto industry.
The year 2021 started with its 1st launch by the luxury brand Audi of the car A4 facelift, the mid-sized luxury sedan. With a sharper look the car got some minor tweaks like new headlamps with LED DRLs, new fog lamp housing, and new reshaped taillights. For the interior the car looks almost similar to previous model with minor changes like bigger infotainment system and more use of leather.
Toyota started the new year with launch it most widely acclaimed mid-cycle facelift of Fortuner and the extended top variant Fortuner Legender. This was a much-needed interior and exterior upgrade that the earlier Fortuner was lacking with the increasing competition like MG Gloster and Mahindra Alturas G4. Both these Toyota cars comes with major interior changes like bigger infotainment system, redesigned components and more.
Jeep Compass also got its facelift with upgraded interior and minor exterior tweaks which was first unveiled on 7th January and later got the final launch on 27th January. The new Compass facelifts got upgrades like 10.1-inch infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, 10.25-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera and much more.
Tata also launched its much-awaited turbo variant of its Altroz which added an additional 24hp and 27Nm to the current petrol variant which raised its same spec XT petrol variant to Rs 60,000 more. The Tata Altroz iTurbo comes in 3 variants namely XT, XZ, and top variant XZ+.
The James Bond brand Aston martin also launched its ultra-luxury car the DBX at Rs 3.82cr in India with ultra-powerful engine of 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine which produces power up to 550hp and a peak torque of 700Nm, coupled with a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission gearbox which can take the car from 0-100 in mere 4.5sec with an optimum speed of 290kmph.
BMW came with overly sized long sedan the gran limousine which addressed the pervious drawbacks of the standard 3-series like lesser leg space for rear passengers. This car is specially designed for the rear passengers with all major luxury provided for them. And carry almost the same features as the standard 3-series.
2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC launched with new color schemes and updated features. The Exterior designs remain the same as the pre-existing model, i.e., the facelift of GLC which was launched last year. It is priced at Rs 57.40 lakh for the starting trim GLC 200 petrol and goes up to Rs 63.15 lakh for the top GLC 220d 4Matic trim.Round up January 2021

With a much long wait the widely loved tata safari got its 2021 upgrade. The all-new Tata Safari 2021 will be available in a total of 6 trims – XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ, and XZ+ other than this the car will also be available in both 6-seat variant and 7-seat variant, amongst which the 6-seater will be getting 2 captain seats for the middle row. Renault finally unveiled its much-awaited Renault Kiger with very much resembled its concept model with some minor tweaks like smaller tires and some futuristic looks.
