Strom R3 Electric 3 wheeler launched – priced at Rs 4.5 lakh

Strom R3 the 100% electric 3-wheeler produced by a Mumbai based company Strom motors has been launched at Rs 4.5 lakh. Originally the launch of this vehicle was planned at the start of this year but got delayed due to the ongoing pandemic situation. The Strom R3 will be available in 3 variants – R3 Pure, R3 Current and R3 Bolt each having its own set of features.

The Strom R3 is three-wheeler 2 door 2 seater Electric vehicle that is made for your office or personal day to day usage. The R3 is placed over three wheels which are place in a reverse normal three-wheeler arrangement meaning the R3 consists of 2 front wheels and the 3rd wheel as rear-wheel moreover all these wheels are in a 13 inch size. Talking about R3’s design, it receives a couple of rounded headlamps, a single windshield wiper, a closed fibre grille with the Strom logo at its centre, and a tapering roofline.

Interior and powertrain options

For its size, the Strom R3 gets some great set of features like a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with IoT enabled CMS (Continuous monitoring system) 4G enabled, a 4.3-inch instrument cluster, 20GB of music storage, GPS navigation, voice command and gesture control, and 12 way adjustable driver seats. Now talking about its powertrain the R3 will be powered by a 15kW high efficiency AC motors offering 20hp of max power and optimum torque of 90Nm, which will be coupled by a single speed transmission gearbox. The R3 can be run in 3 drive modes – Eco, normal and sport giving a max speed of 80 kmph. The R3 pure will be capable of giving a claimed mileage of 80km in a single charge, however, the top variant R3 Bolt can produce a claimed mileage of 200 km in a single charge, with a charging time of 3hr via an onboard charger and will also have regenerative braking while suspension.
