Tata Micro-SUV Hornbill Spied again with Heavy Camouflage

Tata upcoming Micro-SUV Hornbill Spied with a heavy camouflage on roads of India, testing, and it is expected to powered with 1.2L NA engine.

Tata Motors India has a busy this year as new models have been adding to the Indian market portfolio since the starting of the year 2021. As in the starting, the homegrown brand added a much-awaited iTurbo engine to the premium hatchback Altroz and last month the company launched, 2021 Tata Safari which was well accepted by the customers as well, as 5,000 safaris have been booked in a single month and the deliveries were started just after the launch. Now the manufacturer has their eyes set on the Micro-SUV segment of the mini hatchback segment, where the vehicle will rival with Maruti Suzuki S-presso and upcoming Hyundai AX1. The launch for Hornbill is scheduled for the next year 2022, as per reports no official statement has been made till now.

Tata Hornbill has Spied on Indian roads on testing once again and this time it’s been shot in City with wearing heavy camouflage, in which the camouflage wrap is peeling off and we can see the production Spec of the Tata HBX. Last year, at the 2020 Auto Expo the manufacturer showcased the concept version of their Micro-SUV named HBX. Now in the leaked images of the trademark name from the brand, it’s been revealed that the production version of HBX will be named Hornbill. Although, the production version doesn’t really change in terms of design as it continues to have split headlamps, vertical front grille, blacked-out front bumper, and black plastic side cladding. Other details also can be seen like, turn indicators integrated on ORVMs, and a thin piano black window lining.

As for now the powertrain for the Hornbill SUV is still a mystery, although it is expected to power with a 1.2 Litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which also used in Tiago and Tigor as well. The engine develops 86PS/113Nm and comes paired with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT. the Tata Hornbill is expected to be priced between Rs 5 lakh to Rs 9 lakh. Although, the electric version is also in making as per reports it will take approximately more than 2 years in making.
