Tata Nexon achieve 2 lakh production units’ milestone at Pune facility

Tata Nexon first Indian vehicle to awarded with a 5-star safety rating achieves the 2-lakh production unit milestone at the Ranjangaon facility.

Tata Motors has today announced to have rolled out 2,00,000 units from the RanjanGaon production facility in Pune. The homegrown manufacturer just achieved the 1,50,000th unit milestone of Nexon in November 2020. And within the span of the last six months, the last 50,000th units have been rolled out. Tata manufacturer also claims that the demand for the compact SUV has been rising and the supply has been shortened, that’s why they been increasing the shift at the Pune production facility. However, the production of the automobile sector has been on the haul for quite some time due to the ongoing health crisis.

Last month tata 5-star SUV Nexon finished in the top 10 most sold vehicles chart and continues to be the consistent sales volume gainer for the brand. With good reception of tata Tiago, Tigor, and Altroz the homegrown brand finished at third position in the overall manufacturer monthly sales chart of May 2021. Tata Nexon was the first Indian production vehicle to awarded with a 5-star adult occupant safety rating at Global NCAP back in December 2018. Nexon was first introduced in late 2017, and since then the popularity of the SUV has been rising which benefits the brand name.

Tata Motors India also claims that the Nexon bookings have been growing since March 2021, as the SUV sets its highest ever monthly sales of 8,683 units in the month. Recently, Tata has discontinued the four diesel trims of Nexon, and now it’s been sold in 20 different trims including 12 petrol and 8 diesel trims. Currently, it is offered with a 1.2 Litre Revotron petrol engine which belts out 120PS of power and 170Nm of torque. The second is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, rated at 110PS of power and 260Nm of torque. The powertrain comes mated with a standard 6-speed MT or an optional 6-speed torque converter.
