Tata Nexon EV is the most affordable and the most successful electric car in the Indian market as of now selling over 3000 units last year, with a base price of Rs 13.99 lakh.

The Tata Nexon EV packs a 30.2 kWh battery with an ARAI claimed range of 312 km on a single full charge, but in a report filed by a Nexon EV owner the car never offered a range over 200 km even on a full charge, the owner also said that he even followed all the advice given by the Tata dealership but non efforts resulted in the car’s range improvement. Not only this but another customer a Delhi based doctor also put out his words on social media regarding the same issue.

Reasoning given by the Tata motors company wasn’t found satisfactory and due to this reason, the minister of Delhi transportation tweeted announcing that the Delhi government has decided to temporarily suspend the subsidy on an EV car model, however, the final verdict is yet to be confirmed by the committee. This decision is made due to multiple complaints about sub-standard range performance. The minister also said that the Delhi government is committed to supporting the electrical vehicles, but not at a cost of faith and confidence of citizens.

Talking about the subsidy policy its states that, under Delhi EV policy, a procurement incentive of Rs 10,000/kWh of battery is given on every EV to a max incentive of Rs 1.5 lakh to all the registered buyers of the first 1000 EV cars in Delhi. In addition to this subsidy government also announced a waiver on road tax and registration fee for these EV cars.
