Tata Motors India currently is the third largest manufacturer in India, below Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. In this year the homegrown brand has already launched the iTurbo variant of Altroz and their flagship SUV New generation of Safari. Now the brand aims to expand their Indian line-up more with the new launch from the Sedan segment to SUVs. Here, are the Top 5 cars launching this year by Tata motors India: –
- Tata harrier (Petrol variant)
Tata harrier has launched in the Indian market a few years ago and since the launch, the SUV is well accepted by buyers. As of now, Harrier is offered with a sole 2.0 Litre FCA Sourced kryotec diesel engine which generates 170 PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain is comes paired with a 6-speed manual and optional 6-speed torque converter as well. The brand hinted at the petrol powertrain in the past as well let’s see when we going to see petrol Harrier. It is expected that the petrol powertrain likely is offered with a 1.5 Litre turbo petrol engine, which will be rated at a maximum power output of 150 PS and peak torque of 250 Nm, while the transmission will remain the same as for diesel engine.
- Tata HBX (Hornbill)
Tata HBX or Hornbill is the first Micro-SUV from the brand likely to launch this year as well. The SUV was first Showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo last year named HBX. Although, the recent trademark paper leak shows that the SUV could be named Hornbill. The test mule has been spotted since last year on roads as well with heavy camouflage. From the Spied Spots some features, and exterior details been seen many times. The entry-level SUV from Tata likely features, floating infotainment system, LED DRLs, split headlamps, smartphone connectivity, digital Cluster, a Harman-Kardon sourced audio system, and so on.
- Altroz EV
In Feb 2021 Tata launched the much-awaited iTurbo variant of the Altroz, and Tata is now working on launching the first fully electric premium hatchback in the Indian market this year. The Altroz EV was last showcased by the manufacturer back in the 2020 Auto Expo and likely to be launched around the Diwali festival. While the official technical and battery pack details not being revealed yet, but as per reports the Altroz EV likely to have a driving range of between 300 Km – 350 Km in a single full charge capacity.
- Tiago CNG and Turbo trim
Tata is planning to launch the turbo as well as the CNG variant of the smallest hatchback Tiago will come as a replacement for Tiago JTP. Tiago Turbo is likely to be powered with a 1.2 Litre turbo petrol engine same as Altroz iTurbo trim. Also, CNG variant test mules of Tiago being spotted many times on roads, and likely to offer 1.2 Litre Revotron petrol engine which develops 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. Both the new variant edition to the Tiago line-up will pair with a standard 5-speed manual gearbox system and help the hatchback to go against the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Turbo.
- Tigor turbo and CNG trim
Similarly, as in Tiago, the Tata Tigor line-up will be having a new powertrain of turbo and CNG. This helps Tigor to go neck to neck with segment king Maruti Suzuki Dzire and another like Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura turbo. The Tigor currently priced between Rs 5.39 lakh to Rs 7.49 lakh ex-showroom.
