In February last month, Renault unveiled their competitive compact SUV Kiger in the Indian market. The vehicle is based on the CMA-F+ platform as the Nissan Magnite, Renault Triber as well. Since the launch, Kiger has managed to generate a lot of buzz and sales as it is priced very aggressively and currently the most affordable Sub-4m Compact SUV in the Domestic market. - Upfront Styling
The Kiger Styling is very subjective, although you can also say that it is the bigger version of Kwid as well. But the vehicle looks enormously good-looking, the Split vertical headlamps, Chrome inserts Grille design, 16-inch alloy wheels, massive central air intake, C-Shaped LED taillights, all these are stylings are packed very efficiently. The All-black cladding all around the vehicle gives it a muscular design and, the roof rails and Dual-tone color options make it sportier.
- Turbo-petrol Engine
Renault Kiger is offered in two engine options, a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder Naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0 Litre Turbocharged petrol engine. The Former develops 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque, and the latter generates 100 PS of maximum power and 160 Nm of peak torque with MT and 152 Nm of torque with CVT. Although the engines are low on power it is currently the most affordable turbocharged engine available in the market. Although, no diesel is offered with it.
- Automatic offered in both transmission
Buyers can opt for the automatic transmission gearbox system with both the engines, while the other cousin Nissan Magnite offers a CVT gearbox system only with a Turbocharged engine only. Kiger can have 5-speed AMT with NA engine and CVT with a turbocharged engine as well.
- Best Boot Space in the Segment
The Renault Kiger has the Segment leading Boot space of 405 liters, which can be expanded to 879 Litres with foldable rear seats into 60:40. Other than Boot, the Vehicle features up to 29.1 Litre cabin space as well, and smallholders as well all over the vehicle, which makes it a more practical car in the segment.
- Aggressive pricing
The Renault Kiger currently offers a starting price of Rs 5.45 lakh for the base RXE and goes up to Rs 8.17 lakh for Top RXZ trim for the naturally aspirated petrol engine, while for Turbocharged engine it is priced between Rs 7.14 lakh to Rs 9.72 lakh (All prices are ex-showroom New Delhi).
