A lot of brands have introduced their new products and expand their line, most of the SUVs were being launched by brands like land rover, Mercedes, and Audi. - Land Rover defender
Land Rover has introduced their new generation of defenders, with a new boxy design and great off-roading capabilities. It offers two versions, Defender90(three-door), and Defender 110 (five doors version). Defender built on a new chassis, which the company claim to be the strongest they have ever built. It is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine, that generates 295 PS of peak power and 145 Nm of peak torque. However, the plug-in Hybrid version is still to arrive in the Indian market soon. Currently, land rover retails Defender price starting from Rs 73.98 lakh and goes up to Rs 90.46 lakh.
- Mercedes Benz EQC
Mercedes Benz EQC is the first-ever electric SUV launched by the German carmaker in the Indian market. The introductory price for the first 50 units was set to be Rs 99.99 lakh. It equipped with a lot of premium technology and the highlight of the car is the dual-screen cockpit. Mercedes-Benz also opens 100 charging station points across India in 48 cities to overcome the fear of charging, and help improve electric infrastructure. The vehicle powered by two electric motors, each one set on each axle. The power draws from the 80 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which brought out 406 PS of maximum power and 700 Nm of peak torque. The claimed driving range for EQC is rated at 470 Km in full charge, which is quite impressive.
- Mercedes-Benz GLS 2020
The second generation of GLS has also been launched this year. The New platform was being used for building a new SUV, which grew also in size and liberates interior space as well. The cabin gets a dual-screen cockpit which added raises the premium factor of the vehicle. The New GLS offers in two variants, 400d 4MATIC and 450 4MATIC. The earlier version was powered with a 3.0 Litre turbo diesel engine and the newer version powered by a 3.0 Litre turbo petrol engine. The newer version rated as 365 PS of maximum power and 500 Nm of peak torque. The price tag for BS6 GLS is Rs 99.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for both variants.
- Mercedes Benz GLE 2020
The second generation of GLE also arrived in the Indian market. A lot of design features interior and exterior has been taken from their larger product GLS, especially the exterior design. GLE 2020 also gets a dual-screen cockpit, digital instrumental cluster, HD touchscreen infotainment system. The New GLE 2020 offers three engine options, 2.0 Litre Diesel, 3.0-liter diesel, and a 3.0 Litre turbocharged petrol engine. Mercedes retails GLE with a starting price of Rs 73.70 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.2 crore.
- Audi Q2
Audi launched its most awaited entry-level SUV Q2. This cross-over is Audi’s most affordable vehicle in the Indian market currently. Q2 doesn’t have a lot of features inside out but by the looks and engine specification, it looks quite handsome. Although Audi launches the pre-facelift version of Audi Q2, not the latest version that has been launched in the European countries. Audi offers Q2 in single-engine option, 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine which rated as 190 Ps of maximum power and 320 Nm of peak torque. Audi retails the Q2 base model at Rs 34.99 lakh and the top model at Rs 48.89 lakh.
