The Toyota Innova is compact MPV manufactured by Japanese automaker Toyota. It is first introduced in Indonesia on 2004 and since than its production start in many countries and launched in almost every country. The Innova has a body frame chassis constructed from Toyota’s IMV platform together with helix pickup truck and Toyota Fortuner SUV.
First generation Innova was launched on 2005 with the huge numbers in sales for Innova at the time of launch. From then Toyota keep updating Innova from year on year. First Innova was powered by 2.0 litre petrol, 2.7litre petrol, and 2.5litre diesel turbocharged, available engine options.
Second generation Innova was first showcase at Feb auto expo 2016 and later the year on May 2016 it was launched in India. The new gen Innova is called “Innova Crysta”, and it is completely different from previous gen Innova. It is developed on completely new platform and have different engine options. The 2.0 and 2.7 litre petrol engines are carried from previous gen while 2.4 and 2.8 litre diesel engines are completely new. The available transmission options are 5 speed manual and 6 speed automatic transmission. It was launched with BS4 emission norms.
Now At present Toyota Innova Crysta comes with BS6 compliant with 2.7 litre petrol and 2.4 litre diesel engine with both manual and automatic transmission. The 2.8 litre diesel AT powertrain will not be offered in the BS6 era. With this Innova crysta now gets stability control, hill assist, and emergency brake signal as standard. Prices for BS6 petrol variants starting from Rs15.36 lakhs to Rs22.02 lakhs, for BS6 diesel variants ranges from Rs16.14 lakhs to Rs24.06 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
