Toyota motors has released their sales figures for the month April 2021, and the auto industry are getting towards the recovery phase from the crisis last year.
- Toyota garnered a domestic tally of 9,622 units last month
- The brand saw a degrowth of 35.84 percent on MOM basis
- Kirloskar motors are planning to launch the rebadged version of Ciaz
Toyota Kirloskar Motors India has released their sales numbers for the month of April 2021. The manufacturer sold 9,622 units last month against 14,997 units were sold in March 2021, getting a 35.82 percent degrowth on a MOM basis. The volume for the first wave has made all the automotive industry halt and there was a lot of loss, while now the second wave has been hit on the Indian market and due to which the sale numbers have come down, due to low production and stopped at some plants as well.
Toyota has announced its scheduled annual maintenance program at its facilities in Bidadi Karnataka. This is done to enhance the efficiency and ease of doing work at the facility a well as the safety of the equipment used at production plants. Speaking on the sales performance the Senior Vice president of TKM said, “At the outset, we express our solidarity and continued support for the community at this hour of peril. Given the current situation and considering all those who have been impacted by the second wave of the pandemic, what is most important to TKM is the wellbeing and safety of our employees, dealer & supplier staff, and the community at large.”.
However, across some parts of the countries the cases peaking to their highest level, and the wholesale duty has been hammered at some places to a certain extent last month. Although, this month likely to be the same as last month or last year, as cases are increasing exponentially and the possibility of whole country lockdown could be upon all the auto manufacturers. With this crisis supplying the products to the right state and to the right dealerships is getting difficult. Currently, the Japanese manufacturer has Innova Crysta and Fortuner performing well in terms of sales volume, while Glanza and urban cruiser rebadged version are also getting good sales. Although, the manufacturer is planning to launch the rebadged version of Ciaz named Belta in the Indian market along with a rebadged version of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
