Volkswagen plans to launch electric SUV ID.4 in India – Reports

Volkswagen electric SUV ID.4 could be brought to the Indian market near future as per reports.

Volkswagen group revealed the production-ready model of the electric SUV ID.4 last year in the second half. With the global debt this year the German brand could bring the fully electric SUV in the Indian market as well next year. The Volkswagen ID.4 will be the second car built on the MEB platform and the first fully electric vehicle from the German group in the Indian market. In terms of place in the brand lineup, it sits between five-seater Tiguan and 7-seater Tiguan All Space. It is inspired by I.D. Crozz concept, which was showcased at last year’s Auto Expo, and builds on a brand’s new design language for EV’s.

The Vehicle gets sleek Split headlamps, an LED strip over the nose at the front fascia, in the middle brand’s logo, a standard enclosed front grille like in every EV’s, and a wide central air dam. The vehicle gets flush-fitting door handles helping in reducing aerodynamic drag coefficient and improving the driving range to an extent. At the rear, the car gets the wraparound LED taillights with the same LED strips joining the lights. The ID.4 gets a dual-tone rear bumper with a faux skid plate at the back. The car will likely have a 77 kWh battery pack with a synchronous electric motor capable enough on generating 204 PS of maximum power and 310 Nm of peak torque. The car can sprint from 0-100 Kmph in just 8.5 seconds.

The ID.4 capable enough to deliver 520 Km of the driving range tested by the WTLP test cycle on a single full charge. The battery pack can be charged with an 11 KW AC charger, and a 125 KW DC fast charger will provide a range of 320 Km with just 30 minutes of charging.
