Audi India Private Limited is a subsidiary of Audi AG owned by the Automobile giant and its parent company Volkswagen Group. The company was established in 2007 in Mumbai, India by Volkswagen Group India. This company has a sole purpose of dealing in luxuries vehicles only in the Indian market. And the German automaker has the goal to become India’s leading luxury car manufacturer. The company assembles almost 95% assemble of their vehicles in India for the Indian market.
The first ever car Launched by Audi AG Audi Type A. This car was launched way back in 1910 and had only 16KW power. During the same year the company also launched its successor Type B. Initially the companies’ symbol was not what we see today. The Four Rings in Audi’s symbol came from the merger of 4 companies the Audi, Horch, DKW and Wanderer. In 1932, with the merger the company got the four-ring symbol and became Audi Union AG which we know today.
Since the beginning, Audi has been one of the most popular luxury brands in the world as well as in India. In 2007, Audi India started assembling some models in India and also imported other models as well bringing a new affordable luxury line-up in Indian market. And now in 2021, Audi has a line-up of 7 vehicles in the Indian market and also expecting a few more this year. The current Line-up of the German automaker consist of Luxury Sedans, SUVs and sportback series.
