Citroen French automaker has all set to launch their debut car Mid-Size SUV C5 Aircross. Earlier it was planned to launch in November 2020, but delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Ahead of its official launch in March 2021, the carmaker has officially revealed the first unit of the Indian-Bound SUV. Citroen officially revealed the detailed specification of the SUV, which helps us to compare with its major rival in the Indian market, Homegrown brand affordable Tata harrier mid-size SUV. Below is the detailed specification comparison between Citroen C5 Aircross and 2020 Tata Harrier: –

The Citroen C5 Aircross measures as 4500 mm in length, 1969 mm in width, 1710 mm in height and 230 mm in ground clearance. On the other hand, Tata Harrier measures 4589 mm in length, 1894 mm in width and 1706 mm of height.
This means the Citroen C5 Aircross is 75mm wider and 4 mm taller than tata harrier. Although, Tata Harrier is actually 98 mm longer and 11 mm longer wheelbase as well. The Citroen C5 boot space is 580 Liter while a compared with harrier’s 425 Liter of boot space.

Citroen C5 Aircross currently only offers a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder diesel engine, which generates 177 PS of maximum power and 400 Nm of peak torque, when mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox.
While it should be noted that the 2020 Tata Harrier is powered with a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder diesel engine, which belts out 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. While transmission offered is 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT.
On the safety side, C5 Aircross equipped with, 6-airbags, Hill descent control, Front and rear sensors, back camera, tire pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD, ESP control, and hill start assist. On the other hand, Compass offers 6-airbags, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, brake assist, traction control, ISOFIX child mounting, Hill descent assist, ESC, and Hill Hold assist.
On the other hand, Tata Harrier consists of 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold control, Hill-start/Stop assist, traction control, stability control, rollover mitigation, rear parking sensors and camera, and so on.
Citroen C5 Aircross offers, LED headlamps, LED taillights, panoramic sunroof, LED DRLs, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, android auto, apple car play, hands-free tailgate open and close, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, hands-free parking, Dual-zone auto climate control, cruise control, Electronic parking brake, drive modes, traction modes, Auto-Dimming IRVM, Heated ORVM and So on.
While 2020 Tata Harrier equipped with an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports android auto, apple car plays connected car-tech, 6-way adjustable driver seats, 9-speakers premium surround sound system, auto-dimming IRVM, Drive modes, panoramic sunroof, Xenon HID projector headlamps, 7-inch instrument cluster and so on.
Tata retails Harrier SUV with a base price of Rs 13.99 lakhs which goes way up to Rs 20.45 lakhs for the top-end variant (All prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi). Although the Citroen C5 Aircross prices are not revealed yet it is expected to price at Rs 30 lakhs mark ex-showroom.
The Citroen C5 Aircross is the premium model from the brand and hence, it will be priced as a premium product. Although the SV has to rival with Mid-Size affordable SV as well, like Harrier, Creta, and so on. Although, tata harrier goes neck to neck with Citroen C5 even in power. But Citroen brings more premiums to the table. +
