Royal Enfield is the undisputed champion of the 350cc space in the Indian market. It should note that in the Indian market, out of five four bikes are from premium bike manufacturer Royal Enfield and one bike is from Japanese manufacturer Honda CB350. In recent times as well bike manufacture like Jawa, Benelli also enters India but still, Royal Enfield’s dominance can’t be undertaken by any one of them in terms of monthly sales. And yet again last month in May 2021, RE classic finished at the top of the chart.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 finished at the first position with 9,239 units against 23,298 units sold in April 2021, getting a 60.3 percent decline in sales when compared on an MoM basis. As for the bike’s future New-generation classic 350 has been in talks for more than a year now and the expected launch is to be done later this year. The second position is taken by Royal Enfield’s most loved nameplate bullet 350 with 4,557 units sold in last year against 9,908 units in April 2021, with getting 54 percent negative sales growth on a MoM basis.
The Meteor 350 finished at third position with 3,375 units sold in May 2021, against 7,844 units in April 2021, getting 56.9 percent sales to decline on an MoM basis. Meteor 350 was the first model from the new J platform which also shares its underpinning with the upcoming range of 350cc bikes. The fourth position is taken by RE Electra as it sold 2,112 units last month against 3,631 units in April 2021, getting 41.8 percent negative sales growth. The last fifth position is garnered by Honda CB350, it only mange’s to sell 428 units last month against 2,969 units in April 2021 with an 85.5 percent sales decline.
