Honda Activa yet again leading the charge in the top 10 scooters sold in a month, and July 2021 is no different than another month.
- Honda Activa finished at the top sold scooter with 1,62,956 dispatched last month
- TVS Jupiter and Ntorq finished at third and fourth position
- Yet again Yamaha RayZR finished at tenth position; three months in a row
The Overall sales of Scooter in July 2021 stood at 3,45,202 units against 3,03,225 units sold in the same corresponding month last year resulting in a growth of 13 percent on a YoY basis. In June 2021 Scooter space saw a de-growth in terms of sales while Bikes space got positive growth. Although as for July 2021 Scooter space yet again posted positive growth. The Top position is yet again taken by Honda Activa with 1,62,956 units sold last month. The second position is taken by Suzuki Access with no way near to Activa, as it just registered 46,985 units last month.
If we compared the first and second positions there is a difference of almost 1.20 lakh units, which showcases the domination of Activa in the scooter segment in India. The third and fourth position is taken by TVS Jupiter 38,209 units and TVS Ntorq 23,983 units against 48,995 units and 16,404 units in July 2020. This resulted in the former getting a Degrowth of 22 percent and the latter scooter gets a positive sales growth of 46.20 percent on a YoY basis. Honda Dio finished at fifth position with 20,604 units dispatched in July 2021 against 37,233 units in July 2020 getting 44% degrowth.
In the Second half, we have Sixth’s position taken by Hero Pleasure registering a cumulative sale of 17,713 units last month up against 16,290 units sold in twelve months back in July 2020, resulting in a growth of 8.74 percent. The seventh position is held by yet another Suzuki Burgman with dispatching over 10,000 units in July 2021. The last three positions 8, 9, and 10 were Yamaha Fascino 9,525 units, Hero Destini 125 8,070 units, and Yamaha RayZR 7,053 units. If we compared it on a YoY basis monthly sales chart all the scooters posted a negative sale of 17.77%, 38.79%, and 41.38% respectively.
