Yamaha MT-15 MotoGP special edition launched in India – Priced at Rs 1.48 lakh

Yamaha today silently launched MT-15 MotoGP special edition in the Indian market, which features visual updates and some cosmetic changes.

Japanese two-wheeler manufacture Yamaha has silently announced the launch of MT-15 MotoGP special edition to the Indian market, price range starting from Rs 1.48 lakh. While, the regular MT-15 comes with a price tag of Rs 1,46,600, which makes it around Rs 2000 costlier than a regular one. While just a few weeks ago Yamaha has also expanded its Indian line-up with the launch of the FZ-X retro styled Neo roadster bike in India. A few months ago, Yamaha also launched the MotoGP edition of FZ25 priced at Rs 1.36 lakh, which makes it the most affordable quarter-liter bike courtesy of a Rs 20,000 price drop.

While, the Yamaha MT-15 MotoGP edition gets a visual update like monster energy graphics on the fuel tank, MotoGP branding on fuel tank shrouds, fuel tank, and side panels. The Noticeable change to the bike is Yamaha badging in golden color. Apart from that no design changes ahs been made to the bike and still features to have streetfighter presence on the looks. It continues to have LED headlamps and LED DRLs. The bike rides on a conventional telescopic front fork and linked type monocross rear suspension system. The MT-15 is based on the same delta box frame as the R15 V3.   

As for performance, the MT-15 MotoGP edition continues to be powered by a 155-cc single-cylinder fuel-injected liquid-cooled engine, which belts out the maximum power output of 18.5 PS at 10,000 Rpm and 13.9 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 Rpm. The powertrain comes paired with a 6-speed transmission gearbox system, long with the slipper and assists clutch as standard. The braking is done by 282 mm front and 220 mm rear disc brakes, along with a single-channel ABS. AS for the future brand planning to launch Dual-Channel ABS with MT-15 as well. The bike also boasts its features list with an all-LCD instrument cluster, LED taillights and Turn indicators, and so on.
