2020 Nissan Magnite Scores 4-star safety rating at ASEAN NCAP crash test

Nissan Magnite recorded a 4-star safety rating at the ASEAN NCAP crash test and becoming the cheapest SUV with the highest safety ratings.

Nissan Motors India has launched its most awaited compact SUV last month, with aggressive pricing as suspected. The Price range starts from Rs 4.99 lakhs for the base model and Rs 9.51 lakh for the top trim (ex-showroom New Delhi). Since the debut, it has received a lot of inquiries online and offline also gets more than 15,000 bookings for the vehicle. Most of the bookings came for an XL and XE variant. The waiting period for the XE model has been 32 weeks and for the XL variant, it is 15 weeks. The Nissan claimed that the Magnite is the low maintenance vehicle in the segment of compact SUV. It takes only 29 paise per Km in maintained.

With all the appreciation coming for the Magnite, adding a cherry on the Top Magnite awarded with the 4-star safety rating at the ASEAN NCAP crash test, further details are yet to be revealed by the NCAP. It looks like the Indian-spec model of Magnite is manufactured only in the Tamil Nadu plant. The Sub-4m SUV Magnite powered with a 1.0 Liter naturally aspirated petrol unit and a 1.0 Liter turbocharged petrol unit. The transmission duties are performed by a standard 5-speed manual transmission system and an additional CVT (continuous variable transmission) automatic gearbox system for the Turbo petrol unit only.

The Nissan Magnite build on a CMF-A+ platform, which also underpins the upcoming rival Renault Kiger. Magnite is the cheapest SUV in the segment with high safety ratings. Magnite equipped with a lot of safety features like ABS with EBD, 4-airbags, Hill assist, vehicle stability control system, roll-over technology, and many more. The Magnite rivals with the likes of, Hyundai venue, Kia sonet, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport, XUV300, KUV100, and Honda WR-V.
