Electric vehicles sales analysis June 2021 – Nexon EV, MG ZS EV

Tata Nexon EV once again finished at the top of the sales tally for electric vehicles in June 2021, and the EV saw its highest monthly tally since its debut.

Yet again Tata motor’s electric vehicles portfolio consisting of Tigor EV and Nexon EV with a cumulative sale of 663 units sold in June 2021. While, the Tata Nexon EV saw its highest ever monthly sales tally with 650 units sold in June 2021, as against 486 units were sold in May 2021, getting 33.7 percent of positive sales growth on an MoM basis. The Chinese EV MG ZS EV finished at second position with 250 units were dispatched last month against 102 units in May 2021, finishing the month with 145.1 percent positive sales growth when compared on a month-on-month basis

Another electric vehicle from the homegrown manufacturer Tata Tigor finished at third position with only 8 units dispatched in June 2021 as against 13 units sell on May 2021, getting a 38.5 percent negative sales MoM basis. Although, Tata has launched a new brand Xpres for the government agency and private sectors. And recently Tata launched a first product for the Xpres brand a revised Tigor EV named Xpres-T with a starting price of Rs 9.75 lakh ex-showroom. It is being offered in two high-density battery pack – 21.5 KWh and 16.5 KWh. Also, a few days ago tata has launched the special #Dark edition of Nexon EV.

The Deliveries have also been commenced and the first batch of EVs will be delivered to the private company, Garden reach Shipbuilders and engineers limited based in Kolkata. While 1,700 Tigor EV already been operating as a fleet in the government’s green mobility initiative. The Korean manufacturer Hyundai Kona EV finished at fourth position with just 7 units dispatched last month against 7 units in May 2021 with neutral growth. The Electric vehicle market share of tata stands at 71 percent, MG ZS EV has a share of 27.3 percent, Hyundai Kona EV has a share of 0.8 percent respectively.
