Honda cars India released their August 2021 sales figures. As the carmaker recorded a sale of 11,177 units of cars last month against 7,509 units of the car in the same corresponding month a year back, with a positive sales growth of 49 per cent compared on a YoY basis. If considering sales on an MoM basis then the company scored a growth of 85 per cent is compared to the sale of 6,055 units in July 2021.
Honda Amaze became the top seller for the company followed by Honda City and Honda Jazz. And as for the exports, the carmaker registered a growth of 400% with export numbers reaching 2,262 units against the export numbers of 450 units in August 2020.
The recently launched facelift to the Honda Amaze also attracted major sales as in last month only the facelift variant closed-in at 6,591 units, which is almost 60% of the total sale of the company last month. The new Honda Amaze facelift is now the best-selling Sedans of August 2021 leaving behind the long-time crown holder Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
The new Honda Amaze facelift gets few visual upgrades like the new front radiator grille, headlamps, alloy wheel design, taillamps and many other bits. However, the facelift Amaze will only be available in the S and VX variants while the E trim continues to be offered with the pre-facelift version.
As for performance, it continues to be powered with a 1.2 Litre i-VTec petrol engine, which belts out 89 HP of power and 110 Nm of torque. The second is a 1.5 Litre I-DTEC oil burner which develops 99 HP of maximum power and 200 Nm of peak torque. The transmission comes coupled with 5-speed manual transmission and an optional CVT automatic transmission gearbox system.
