The American SUV manufacturer Jeep only has the recently upgraded Jeep Compass as its sole product in the Indian market however the company is planning to introduce many other models available globally to the Indian market as well. Jeep Compass recorded a sale of 1,1773 units in August 2021 as compared to the sale of only 468 units in August 2020, translating to Year-on-Year growth of 150.6%. while comparing on a Month-on-Month basis the company registered a growth of 29% if comparing to the sale of 909 units sale in July 2021.
Jeep Compass got its recent upgrade as a facelift earlier this year with tons of exterior and interior changes also including the feature list. Talking about the interior and feature list, the car now comes with a large 10.1-inch floating infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, wireless smartphone charging and much more.
As for the powertrain options, currently, the SUV is available in two variations. First is the 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which can generate power up to 162 PS and a maximum torque of 250 Nm which can be coupled with either a 6-speed MT or 7-speed DCT gearbox. And the other option is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, which can generate power up to 170 PS and a maximum torque of 350 Nm which can be coupled with either a 6-speed MT or 9-speed torque converter gearbox.
Jeep is also planning to launch its all-new Jeep Commander which will be similar to the Compass but with a seven-seater variant. The features and interior haven’t been revealed but surely, they too will be similar to compass but will be priced way above the interest of many.
