Kia recorded a total sales of 16,750 units last month August 2021 against the sale of 10,853 units last year August translating to YoY growth of 54.3% while the MoM growth showed a growth of 11.3% as compared to the sale of 15,016 units in July 2021. Kia Seltos attracted the greatest number of sales amongst all the three siblings which is 8,619 units, while the Sonet like always showed great sales of 7,752 units and the Carnival is just Carnival with sales of 379 units last month.
Kia India retained its 5th position in this month market share count just behind Maruti, Hyundai, Tata and Mahindra. Although the company only has 3 cars in its Indian line-up, but they are enough to rival all the companies in the Indian market.
Executive Director and Chief Sales and Business Strategy Officer of Kia India, Mr Tae-Jin Park said, “In CY2021, we have sold almost 1.3 lakh vehicles till now, with an average of over 16,000 vehicles per month. With the festive season around the corner, we are anticipating a further rise in this number. To cater to the pent-up and upcoming demand for our vehicles, we are taking appropriate measures to enhance the production output.”
A few days ago, Kia India also launched the new X Line of its best-seller Kia Seltos, which features many updated visual upgrades to the current Seltos in an all-black matte avatar. The X Line is similar to its sister company’s N Line which recently got introduced in India with the recent reveal of the Hyundai i20 N Line. The Kia Seltos N Line has also received visual upgrades like an all-black interior while retains its 1.4-litre four cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and 1.5-litre four cylinder turbocharged diesel engine options.
