Mahindra and Mahindra March 2021 sales surge with a huge margin last month, as most brands have three-digit sales figures courtesy of last year pandemic most brands don’t even sell more than 100 units last year. Mahindra’s bestselling SUV Scorpio continues to garner decent sales figures a month on month and last month was the same. Last month Scorpio manages to sell 2,331 units against 40 units in the corresponding month last year, getting huge 5728 percent positive sales growth on a YOY basis.
Although, the overall sales of the Scorpio have come down when compared with Feb 2021, as it sells only 3,535 units only with getting 34 percent negative sales growth on a MOM basis. Although, to boost up its SUV sales the manufacturer a few weeks ago launched a new base model S3 with a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakhs ex-showroom, New Delhi, and the move also results in a good figure. While it should be noted that Mahindra is working on launching the New-Generation model of Scorpio by the end of this year itself.
The New-Generation Scorpio test mules with heavy camouflage were spied many times on the road, which reveals many details ahead of its official launch. The Spied top-end trim, showcased a single electric sunroof and blacked-out alloy wheels. Currently, Scorpio comes powered with a 2.2 Litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine, which belts out 140 PS of maximum power and 320 Nm of peak torque. Mahindra retails the Scorpio at a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakhs, and which goes up to Rs 16.52 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
