Maruti Suzuki India Pvt. Ltd. has been the epitome of value for money cars for ages however, slowly that hasn’t been the case. As the inflation rates are going up all of the carmakers are slowly but steadily increasing the prices on all of their models, and Maruti isn’t an exception. Recently the company announced a new price hike which has taken effect from 12th July 2021, these hikes don’t concern most of the petrol cars yet and only focuses on all variants of the Maruti Suzuki Swift and all the CNG fitted cars in production.
The reason given by the carmaker is the rise in various input costs, which is to be expected as the prices of everything in India are going up at rocket speed. However, if you are thinking of buying any other Maruti Suzuki car apart from the list, then make it quick as the company is ready to announce another price hike which will be affecting all the other leftover car models in the Maruti Suzuki line-up
As portrayed by the company, this hike was already planned for the second quarter. The increment in the price of each car may vary depending on the model and variant chosen, however, the range will only go up to Rs. 15,000.
This isn’t the first time that the carmaker has hiked the prices on its models, a couple of months back in April Maruti announced a hike of around Rs. 34,000 on various models.
Maruti currently holds dominance over the car market in India owing to almost 48% of the market share. Currently, Maruti has a range of upgrades and new launches planned in the coming months ranging from the entry-level cars like Celerio who is getting its generation upgrade till the launch of the new 5-door Jimny which will be making its way to the Indian market till the end of this year or towards the start of 2022.
