Maruti Suzuki has maintained its dominance over the car market in India for a pretty long period of time and for the past decade, the so-called mascot of the company has been the Maruti Suzuki Swift. The Swift since its launch has been amongst the top seller of the market if not the one and that’s because of the car’s ability to fulfil the value for money demand. Since the launch of the car, it has gotten 3 generation upgrades with the recent one released in 2018 however the swift has also gotten a facelift to its outlook this year.
The carmaker seeing the recent hike in demand of the CNG vehicles is most likely to introduce the Maruti Suzuki Swift in the CNG variant and will be named as the S-CNG which will be based on the current base variant LXi and will most likely be priced Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 70,000 above the base trim.
Maruti Suzuki is also the largest CNG car manufacturer in India followed by Hyundai. As the fuel prices in India are touching their all-time highs, it has been very intricate to make a balance between once fuel spending and regular spending. So due to that reason people are switching over to the best and the cheapest alternative to that which is CNG and for which unlike electric-powered cars the gas stations are more easily available.
Another alternative the petrol-powered cars are the Diesel-powered vehicle however there aren’t many options to go with as most of the manufacturers have already discontinued their diesel-powered variant after the introduction of the BS6 norms which were implemented just a couple of years back. And to stay away from the hassle of designing another BS6 compatible for the budget cars didn’t seem a wise choice to the companies both on a legal and profitable level.
