Toyota’s new-generation 300 series Land cruiser making its official global debut this month itself, while the exact date hasn’t been confirmed. The reports are emerging from the leaked document in South Africa, which stated that the Land Cruiser officially debut being on work later this month. The document also reveals the variants and the powertrain options for the new generation in the South African market. New-generation Land cruiser production-ready images have been leaked online a few weeks ago, which reveals most of the details about the SUV.
While a lot of other details like specifications and trims for the Indian market haven’t been revealed yet. AS for the South African market, the 2022 Land Cruiser will be offered in three variants – GX-R, GR-S, and ZX. The base variant GX-R will be offered with a sole diesel engine, while GX-S offered with Gazoo racing sport and SUV top-end trim ZX will be available with both diesel and petrol powertrain options. As for the exterior design the 2022 Land Cruiser offers standard LED headlamps, LED DRLs, dual-zone auto climate control three-zone or four-zone depending on trim, and LED taillights.
The documents also reveal the powertrain specifications for the powertrain offered in the South African market – a 3.3 Litre turbo diesel engine and a 3.5 liter twin-turbo diesel V6 engine. The former develops 309 PS of maximum power output and 700 Nm of peak torque, while the latter engine belts out 415 PS of power and 650 Nm of torque. The powertrain comes coupled with a standard 10-speed automatic transmission gearbox system. Depending, on the global markets the SUV will get different engine options or maybe indifferent tunes state. The vehicle is expected to bring to India through the CBU route, similar to the previous models.
