The famous Suzuki Jimny is widely popular all around the globe and enjoys a good amount of audience in the international markets, and with the latest generation upgrade Jimny has gone over the board with the sales, the demand is so high that the carmaker is struggling to keep up with it and for that, the company will soon be increasing its production many folds. Although Jimny’s production also exists in India, there hasn’t been any news of its launch up until now when the carmakers showcased their 5-door Jimny in the Auto Expo 2020.
According to the reports the 5-door Jimny will be making its way into Indian markets up until early 2022, however, if the demand for the car stays high then the company might also introduce the 3-door version of the car at a later date. Till now the country with the widest range of Suzuki Jimnies is Australia which recently witnessed the debut of the new Suzuki Jimny Lite that comes with a bare minimum feature.
Suzuki might expand the reach of the Jimny light depending on the response the car gets in the Australian market. Talking about its features, the car gets Projector headlamps without the Fog lamps, 15-inch steel wheel, rather old looking taillights and Rear Bumper. while for the insides the car comes with simple features like 2-Din Radio/CD player with Bluetooth connectivity to your smartphone, Air condition system but with no auto climate control just regular manual controls, and a basic interior structure.
The Powertrain however remains the same as compared to the normal variant which comes with a 1.5-litre K15B 4-cylinder petrol engine that can pump up a maximum power up to 104 PS and 138 Nm of peak torque, coupled with a standard 5-speed manual transmission system along with 4X4 configuration.
