Volkswagen to launch subscription models in India

Volkswagen has announced that it will be introducing subscription based models of many of its cars including Polo, Vento and T-Roc while the upcoming Taigun will not be included in this plan. This subscription plan is a tie-up between Volkswagen and ORIX Auto Infrastructure Services Ltd (OAIS) which enables this plan to be applicable in 30 company outlets of states like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Bangalore.

Anyone who wants to own a car with a white number plate without the hassle of financing, maintenance, insurance and any other charges. The subscription plans will be available with easy instalments for 24, 36 and 48 months with a rent of Rs. 16,500 for Volkswagen Polo, Rs. 27,000 for Vento and Rs. 59,000 for T-Roc SUV. The plan for this is to be active since the 9th of this month and if interested you can know more details about the legality and terms on the company’s official website.

This small step has most likely been talking to attract customers to their new upcoming mid-size SUV, the Volkswagen Taigun which will be making its debut on the 23rd of September 2021. Although, this car isn’t in the subscription plan but this step might help to grab the attention.

The upcoming Taigun will underpin its cousin Skoda Kushaq which was launched earlier and has been performing decently in the segment. The Volkswagen Taigun will be powered by the same 1.0 litre, 3 cylinders turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine generating maximum power of 115 hp and 150 hp respectively, these engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DCT unit.

Volkswagen is also planning to launch its new Sedan which will be named Virtus and will be built on the MQB A0 platform and will size even bigger than the Vento.
