While the automobile market booming in India many foreign automakers are planning to launch their best suit for Indian cars in the near future. Although, many buyers go out in the market and look for more features loaded vehicle, and some people go in the automaker to buy a car for their basic necessity. On the other hand, some people invest a lot of money on customization, but some were just happy with the stock unit they get from the manufacturer. In today’s time there are many segments of cars in the Indian market, though we take a look at the affordable new cars from every segment in India, and what you get in its base variant: –

  1. Entry level hatch – Maruti Suzuki Alto 800STD

Maruti Suzuki Alto is the most affordable offering from the indo- Japanese manufacturer Indian line-up below another hatch like WagonR and Swift. While it is the cheapest car currently for sale in India, it still misses the basic necessity features. 2. Mid-level hatch – Hyundai Santro Era

The Korean manufacturer Hyundai Santro is in the Indian market for more than a decade now. Currently, it is the most affordable offering from the Korean line-up for India. It comes with a baser price of Rs 4.73 lakh ex-showroom. This base variant gets manual AC, ABS, driver airbag, front power windows.

3. Premium hatchback – Tata Altroz

Tata’s cheapest offering in the premium hatchback segment is last year’s launch Altroz. It is offered with a base price of 5.73 lakh ex-showroom. The base variant Altroz XE comes equipped with features like AC, Dual-frontal airbag, front power windows, body-colored bumpers, a high-speed alert system, tilt steering, multi-drive modes, and so on.

4. Sub-4m sedan – Hyundai Aura E

The Hyundai Aura E is currently the cheapest car in the Sub-4m sedan segment. Although, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is not the cheapest Sub-4m sedan because recently the Korean manufacturer updated their price band, which they quote a very good price for Aura E by replacing Hyundai Xcent. The base variant features an Emergency stop signal, driver airbag, high-speed alert, body-colored bumper, rear chrome garnish, gear shift indicator, and a service reminder in the car. Hyundai currently retails Aura E with a starting price of Rs 5.97 lakh ex-showroom.

5. Sub-4m compact SUV – Renault Kiger

Renault India has recently entered the Sub-4m compact SUV segment with its new offering named Kiger. It was launched with a very aggressive price tag and the base variant RXE MT comes with a base price of Rs 5.45 lakh ex-showroom. The car comes loaded with features like satin silver roof rail, sports rear spoiler, wheel cover, manual AC, front power windows, LED instrument cluster, LED DRLs, black ORVMs, turn indicators, and much more.

6. Mid-Size SUV – Renault Duster

Yet Another cheapest SUV from Renault India named Duster. Duster was in the Indian market for over a decade now and still features its first generation with some facelift in recent times. Renault Duster RXE comes with features like a Dual-tone bumper, reverse parking sensors, impact sensing door unlock, driver and passenger airbags, smart start/stop button, and much more. It is coming with an amazing price tag of Rs 8.59 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi. Although, the manufacturer currently planning to launch the new-generation Duster in India very soon.

7. C-Segment Sedan – Skoda Rapid Rider

The Crenzh manufacturer Skoda has recently updated its most affordable offering for India, C-Segment Sedan Rapid. It is offered with a base price tag of Rs 7.80 lakh ex-showroom. The vehicle comes features with center armrest, rear AC vents, an all power window, rear parking sensors, airbags, and much more. The car comes powered with a 1.0 Litre TSi Rider petrol engine, which develops 108 PS of maximum power and 175 Nm of peak torque and generates a fuel economy of 18.97 Kmpl.

8. Premium Sedan space – Hyundai Elantra SX MT

The Hyundai Elantra SX MT is the cheapest premium sedan in India, with a base price tag of Rs 18.79 lakh ex-showroom. It boasts features like ESS, ESC, HAC, adjustable seats, armrest, cooled glovebox, Dual-zone climate control, AV+BS with EBD, Dial frontal airbags, and much more. That being said the car is worth it if you are looking for a premium sedan, and with a feature like this it is totally value for money car.

9. MPV – Renault Triber

The 7-seater Renault Triber currently the cheapest MPV in the Indian market right now, below Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which is currently the bestselling MPV in India. The Renault Triber MPV base variant comes with a price tag of Rs 5.30 lakh ex-showroom and recently been awarded a 4-star safety rating for adult occupant and a 3-star safety rating for child-occupant at global NCAP. It comes with features like front power windows, projector headlamps, ABS with EBD, load limiter pedestrian protection, high-speed warning, and so on.

10. SUV – Mahindra Thar AX

No matter how many brands call their 4×2 vehicles SUVs in India, Mahindra Thar will always be the true SUV with an amazing price tag. Last year Mahindra launched the new generation Thar and its base variant AX comes priced at Rs 14.06 lakh ex-showroom. As for features, it ticks all the basic necessities in the car like an AC, front power windows, ABS with EBD, driver airbags, and much more. Currently, the waiting period on thar reaches 13 months, and buyers are crazy about the SUV.

11. Electric Vehicle – Mahindra eVerito D

At last, in the segment, we have affordable electric vehicle Mahindra eVerito D. this EV comes with a price tag of Rs 8.42 lakh ex-showroom. In terms of features, the EV doesn’t get many but in this price tag, this is the real value for money EV in the market like India, where many mainstream manufacturers are slowly moving towards greener energy mobility. Many brands already introduce their first EVs like Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV, Mercedes-Benz EQC, and many are in the pipeline.
