Mercedes-Benz W115 was the legendary car that the company produced back in 1968. The car was a mid-sized saloon which was available with both 4-cylinder as well as 5-cylinder engines. The W115 was boxy enough to impress the audience of that period but seems like the phrase what goes around comes around isn’t just meaningless words as the boxy trend has returned again which now is getting implemented on many EV cars. One such design has been created by a digital car designer Larson Design who has digitally imagine this legendry Mercedes-Benz W115 into a modern EV.
Talking about the digital illustration, the front facia is completely modernized starting from the new octagonal grille which retains its boxy design, the chrome strip in the old W115 is now replaced with a LED strip that runs through the grille, the headlamps still keeps the boxy design and also includes the same triple light setup which included the high and low beam along with a turn indicator, the chrome-plated front bumper has also been replaced with a body-coloured bumper that rocks a large air vent which runs from one side to the other.
The only thing that has been kept untouched is the three-pointed star logo which sits above the front edge of the bonnet. The side panels have been replaced by smoother and sharper ones that also consist of strong character lines. The old chrome door handle is now replaced by flush door handles while the old 15-inch steel wheel with a Mercedes wheel cap at the centre is replaced by what seems like a set of 21-inch alloy wheels.
The bad news is that we won’t be seeing the rear side of the illustration as the designer doesn’t provide one, however, a similar treatment can be presumed the most likely will be having.
